Hiya Red! Even though I see you on GW2Guru. Nice to see that you remembered this place.

I went out to Menard's after work today and got a heater for my apartment. Hoping it helps cut down on the electric bill. Hopefully it works... After that I went to my fiancee's where we baked cookies. Yum

^^ this OT thread seems more fun than the other one. Food, sleep, work : missed talking about those things xD.

I want to get an oven. Mainly to bake cookies or lasagnas.
But I'll see, I'm forcing myself to be careful with my money, because I recently re-realized that if I don't buy useless stuff (going to a fast food for dinner/lunch because I'm too lazy to cook), I can buy more useful/interesting stuff without taking a huge hit on the budget (like going skiing).

Being cautious with your money is good. I put away about 15% of everyone one of my paychecks into savings. Saving money is pretty darn important. If you spend all you earn, you have no more than what you started with.

Thursday. Better than Wednesday.

lol
I wanted an oven when I lived in japan--its hard cooking everything on a stove top (and microwave).....but 2 years I persevered....and ate lots of turkey and such when I got home (STILL love turkey and I have been home 6+ years now). I love cooking so eating out wasnt really always my first choice (though I did have some really good restaurants not far away)...I did usually buy some sushi on my way home (aint it great to be able to buy fresh fish and sushi ON YOUR WAY HOME??? dang I miss that!)---the food is probably what I miss the most about japan

saving--its hard to do when you have to use most of your paycheck to pay for things like: rent, utilities, car insurance etc...and what's left you hope to buy food with!!.....we try to put away every month (hubby's 2nd job paycheck goes straight to savings)....but some months are just hard!
(and then they decide to increase the price of health insurance while NOT giving you a raise to cover the cost!)

ah...thursday...one day closer to friday

I love eating pastas so it doesn't really bother me cooking with only a stove top. But whenever I'm bored I want to try to bake cakes and things like that.

As for meals that I really love but require a stove, well there's almost no chances that I'll find any of the required ingredients in France, or at least around where I live (Good luck finding Taro leaves or even taro in supermarkets around my place).

Can't wait for Summer vacations. I'm going to eat, eat and eat things that I can't find in France.

And yay for the week-end starting on a Thursday afternoon .

dang! its blinkin COLD out side...my heater has been on tooo much today (dont want to see that bill next month).....and more snow is headed east....and there goes the heater again

yeah finding ingredients you usually use (or like) in a foreign land is hard (I looked for turkey and ravioli while I lived in japan--found turkey, however, they only sold FULL birds which weighed over 10lbs ---just HOW am I supposed to cook a bird that big??? they were bigger than my ice box!!!!)....got to know the foreign foods store, never did find good ravioli.......................

I am going to crawl back under my blankets on the couch...too dang cold by the computer even WITH the heater on!

BBBBRRRRRRR!!!!!

I did find a few Chinese food store but wow...some of them are so creepy.

Today the weather has been rather nice. In fact the weather was bad only for the past week (near 0°C), around Christmas time we still had 10°C nights.
This year the weather is really nice, considering that last year it snowed at the beginning of December.
But Winter isn't over yet, we'll see how bad it gets in February.

It snowed for a while today and is really cold. Also is supposed to snow more tomorrow. Oh well. Half day with the students tomorrow.

Time to relax by myself. Past few days I have been hanging out with the fiancee. Which has been great but I'm ready for some me time. Sit back and play some BF3!

It's been a week or two since I played any games. And I had all the time to do that.

I have a feeling that when I'm going to be buried under work, I'm going to feel a burning desire to play a video game...But this time, I'll fight back ! Because I'll remember how annoyed I was when I realized that if I had studied instead of playing Skyrim, I would have taken my finals completely stress-less.

I want snow ! I want snowballs fights ! And it's funny how France is always so surprised by snow xD.

it was nice in december--but january has been crazy weather.

I still play gw just about everyday ....its the ONLY game I play.

in other news: wrangled that xmas tree into its box today!! boy do I feel like I accomplished something---

I want to roll around in the snow, dig a tunnel in it, build snowmen ! I don't care about frostbite ! (Maybe after all of that I'll care xD).

When we were driving to go skiing, we drove between a lot of empty fields. I wanted to tell my friends "Pull over, I wanna go run all the way there and come back". But then I realized that they would really think that I lost my mind xD.

Ugh one year my mom decided that we should buy a real Christmas tree (We were in Hawaii, so it was possible). I don't even remember how we managed to get it on our balcony on the 21th floor, but I do remember that it was extremely annoying to take it out.

I'll go back to GW with the new WoC chapter. And I still have some small things to do (getting the weapons for the HoM).

Ya Seattle would probably be happy to give you some Red. They got lots.

BF3 wouldn't let me play for a while. But once I did get to play, it was awesome.

Good job on getting the tree in its box! I need to do that this weekend...

yeah, thanks (and then my hubby didnt even realize it after complaining about it for the last week ).

made some really nice hamburgers on (almost) homemade bread (bought it from a bakery...smell soooooo good there)....

have been getting some sleep---but not when I should be ....but beggars arent choosers today.

think my neighbors turned up their heat (or possible the guy below us)...its not that cold in our apartment for a change (and its dang COLD outside!!)....or possible that insulation I put around the door is helping-----

Got the tree in a box now as well. Just have to load it up in my car today.

Mmmm hamburgers. Had Culver's last night because it was too cold to grill out. Oh well.

I'd give yourself credit first cosy, I say the insulation is doing wonderfully!

I really like cleaning my apartment. Been doing that pretty much all day ^^.

Hehehehe if I wasn't several timezones away I wouldn't mind (except if I have to put things away...it's pretty much the only reason why I don't clean when I'm at home).

Skype : wonderful invention, because talking to 2 people at the same time, who are both on 2 different islands, is priceless.

most of my stuff doesnt have an 'away' partly the reason for the mess in my home I guess.....but a good cleaning is still needed and I am not a fan of housework like that ---my allergies make dusting almost an ER visiting event, as well as cleaning the bathroom with its tendency for mold.....and vacuuuming isnt good for me since I have slipped discs in my back........so all around, cleaning is just not a good thing for my health, though having a clean home is---see the problem???

the whole internet thing is good for me--I have friends in finland, japan and parts of the usa--so using the computer to communicate is much better than the phone bills!!
